Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening procedures are used to brighten the appearance of a patient’s smile – sometimes by as many as 5 to 10 shades in a single session using Glo Science! Professional teeth whitening services can be performed in an office setting and or prescribed for take-home use. Compared to over-the-counter teeth whitening treatments, professional whitening uses stronger whitening agents that deliver faster, safer and more effective results.

Get Glo-ingToday!

Here at Dr. Turley’s dental office we use what we believe is the best whitening system that dentists can offer, calledGlo. Glo utilizes a heat-emitting, LED mouthpiece to accelerate the whitening agent, leaving your teeth whiter, brighter and less sensitive than traditional whitening systems. These professional strength products can only be prescribed and dispensed by a dental professional. We offer an in office whitening treatment that only takes only takes 16 minutes or a take home kit that you can do from home to help whiten or maintain your whitening results. So, do not hesitate to ask us about whitening at your next appointment!

Frequently Asked Questions?

Are Teeth Whitening Results Permanent?

Whitening procedures are effective but not permanent. Teeth naturally darken as we age. Additionally, certain foods, beverages, medications and habits can contribute to a darker, yellowed, or a stained smile. However, professional whitening is best maintained by a combination of good oral care and take-home whitening treatments to sustain and maintain the results.

Am I A Candidate For Teeth Whitening?

You may be a candidate for professional teeth whitening if you are experiencing discoloration of natural teeth, but otherwise have healthy teeth and gums. Schedule a consultation or ask your hygienist to find out if tooth whitening could be right for you. Some patients, such as those who are sensitive to whitening agents, may not be candidates for professional whitening, though we have found that when using the Glo Whitening system, we have seen fewer patient’s experience sensitivity issues.

What Should I Expect When I Get My Teeth Whitened in Office?

Teeth whitening consists of a thorough polishing of the teeth. We will then protect your gums before applying a whitening agent to the surface of your teeth. The product will be activated and left on the teeth for two eight minute sessions before rinsed off with water. Your results will vary according to the natural shade of your teeth and degree of discoloration, but many patients experience lightening of several shades in a single visit!

What Type of Post- Treatment Care Is Required or Recommended?

It is normal to experience some tooth sensitivity following a whitening treatment. You will be instructed to avoid consuming pigmented beverages for at least 24 hours to prevent the teeth from becoming stained again. Examples include tea, coffee, soda and wine. Depending on your results and long-term teeth whitening goals, you may also purchase anat-home whitening kit for later use to touch up your smile when needed.
